There are rarely any signs of pregnancy for at least a month after mating. The nipples do enlarge, but they will do anyway after having her first season & never go down to the size they were before her season. Best way to tell is to have her scanned, but this is usually done around 30 days.

The first signs are normally her getting fatter around 3-4 weeks.Larger dogs will not show laziness such as laying around more as soon as small dogs. They will also experience harder nipples, and loss of appetite around 6-7 weeks. You could also get a pregnancy test called repo which costs around 20-30 dollars. If this information doesn’t help you than go to:

The first signs are a pinkening of the nipples at around 3 - 4 weeks gestation, slowing down in pace during exercise and elongated rest periods, during which the sleep seems to be deeper.

If this is your Yorkie’s first season then she is far too young to be able to successfully nourish and raise a litter. She is still a pup herself and won’t have stopped growing or reached maturity yet.

The best thing you can do for the sake of your b itch’s present and future health, as well as the health of the possible unborn litter, is to take her to the vet and get her spayed. This will solve many problems and relieve you of a potentially very difficult situation.

    Good Luck

With Yorkies and other small dogs, it’s often difficult to tell if they are pregnant, why not just wait and see, why bother getting her scanned. Also phantom pregnancies are quite common. I should know, I used to have 34 Yorkies - no not a breeder, but loved the breed and started taking in more rescue yorkies.
